The creation of the American Heritage Museum II presents an unparalleled opportunity to present visitors with a comprehensive educational experience from the birth of aviation through the end of World War One. There are few museums in the world that have the breadth of aircraft and artifacts to fully tell this story: the fusion of the incredible collection of the early aviation artifacts presents an enormous opportunity to create a one-of-a-kind experience for visitors, to help people understand this pivotal period of time in the dawn of aviation and how the innovative designers and the technology they developed shaped not only modern warfare, but the future of human flight as a whole. Taking cues from the American Heritage Museum, the exhibit space begins with a dark environment where theatrical lighting frames the aircraft and exhibits to focus visitor attention and guide them through the story line. Much like the Jacques M. Littlefield Collection, the exhibits are arranged in a chronological order of development to show the rapid evolution of technology from 1903 through 1918.
