Once only accessible by boat, Lovers Key State Park remains an oasis of natural beauty in Fort Myers Beach. Many visitors to the park—over a million people a year—see only the beach. The Friends of Lovers Key (FOLKS) are working with park staff and Florida State Parks to plan a new visitor center that will quickly orient and show people all that the park has to offer. The new facility will be a crossroads to the park, offering easy walking and tram access.
